In the spring of 2023, to minimise the heat-loss through our walls and do our bit to reduce the carbon-dioxide we emit, we opted to ‘wrap the house in a blanket’ by having external insulation applied on all three walls. It was a major project that took a team of three six weeks to complete, entailed relocating all external pipework and extending window-sills, and gives the house a fresh look as well as dramatically improved heat-retention. As the winter approaches, we need the heating on less to keep the house warm and look forward to lower fuel bills too!
