In March 2023, aged almost 98, Ray had a chest infection from which he didn’t recover, and family and friends gathered for his memorial service at St Andrew’s Methodist Church in Birchgrove, Cardiff, where Audrey and Ray had been members for over 60 years. 

Later in the year, we gathered (physically and virtually!) as a family on Penarth Beach to scatter Ray and Audrey’s ashes on their favourite seaside location – you can just about see the cairn of stones on the beach (circled) into which we placed Ray and Audrey’s ashes so they could be together until the waves returned them to the environment from which they came.
